Schedule of Events

Saturday October 1st.

10:00 am Greenhouse tours begin and run every thirty minutes throughout the day. Tour guides will provide a delightful trip through the orchid growing grounds. See firsthand thousands of gorgeous orchid blooms. Learn how these gems of the flower world are produced, grown, and shipped throughout the world. Witness the Orchids in the Bottle! Learn and see the difference between a cloned orchid and an orchid seedling.

Willie Boy's Restaurant will be serving Donuts and Coffee for the early festival goers.

10:15 The Orchid Society of Arizona will be presenting a Children’s Orchid Class at the Learning Center This class is for children ages 6 to 16. There is no charge for this class! This is the same class that the Orchid Society teaches in schools throughout Arizona. Children will learn about orchids and their cultivation, and construct a miniature greenhouse out of a one-gallon container. Each participant will receive a 3" orchid to bring home! Class size is limited to 30. Participants are urged to bring a clean one-gallon plastic jug. .

10:15 Yucca Valley Sunset Rotary Wine and Cheese Tasting sponsored by Trader Joe’s. Savor the flavour of four different cheeses, and the refreshing tastes of six different wines. All this for a $10.00 cover charge, which includes a commemorative Orchid Festival wine glass. You can also purchase the wines you desire, and the cheeses you enjoy.

10:30 Here comes the Jazz. The festival is pleased to have the graduate school of Jazz from the University of Redlands performing all day. There will be three groups providing the soothing tempo of the festival. These are the best musicians that are the next up and coming stars.

10:45 Willie Boy's Restaurant was voted Meat Lovers at the Taste of Morongo Basin.. They will be serving up sumptuous lunches for the remainder of the day. Hot Dogs or Brisket Sliders will be offered for a dollar. Have a hearter appitite try the pulled pork sandwiches, 1/3 pound sirlon burgers, or a complete meal featuring a 1/2 Barque chicken or Brisket dinner plate. The food will be awesome at this years festival. Come for the food! Sodas, Beer, and wine are available at the festival

11:15 Adult Orchid class (16 years and up) presented by the Orchid Society of Arizona. (OSA) This is a hands on demonstration. Participants will learn all about orchids, and will transplant a blooming Orchid into a six-inch pot. There is a $12.00 charge for the class, which includes a blooming orchid for you to bring home. All the proceeds go to the Arizona Orchid Society’s education fund. You can learn about orchids, bring one home, and help a worthwhile organization. Class size is limited.

12:00 a special tour hosted by Chris Gubler. He will be providing a unique insight into the orchid business. . There is a $10.00 charge for the tour and is limited to the first 20 people. Call 760-364-2282 between 8:30 and 4:30 pm Monday- Saturday.

Sunday October 2nd

10:00 am. Festival begins-A complementary stem of Orchid Flowers for the first 50 guests.

12:15 Pioneer Possie presenting the western shoot out at the Orchid coral. This very entertaining show has three different skits lasting about 30 minutes.

1:15 Final Orchid Class of the festival begins.

1:20 Encore performance by Jazz Graduate Performers from the University of Redlands.
